New MP voting system considered.

I hope this project for electoral reform really comes, we badly need to refresh our electoral system and should include MP recall powers for constituents and the replacement of the House of Lords by an 100% elected Senate..  This need not be delayed the government only needs to enact the recommendations of the Jenkins Report of 1998:

BBC NEWS: “Gordon Brown is set to announce plans to examine a new system of voting MPs to the House of Commons

Ministers have discussed an alternative vote system to choose MPs to replace the first past the post method, BBC political editor Nick Robinson said.

Mr Brown’s plans, which include a legally binding code of conduct for MPs, come after the expenses scandal.

However, it is not clear what changes could be passed into law before Britain votes at a general election…”more
