U.S. Weighs Taliban Strike Into Pakistan – NYTimes.com


The US government may authorize strikes into Baluchistan in order to smash the Taliban centre of power. It is believed a number of senior Taliban leaders are active in the province. There is a risk of civilian casualties but Gen. Petraeus  believes that the new strategy would work. This would further use of the Predator and Reaper (UAVs) would be successful, they are after Baitullah Mehsud, commander of Taliban forces in Waziristan and Muhammad Omar Afghan Taliban chief.  Some Taliban leaders have fled to the Pakistani city of Quetta.
