BBC NEWS, Politics, Sir Fred; ‘won’t give up pension’

It now emerges that Fred Goodwin former big boss of the Royal Bank of Scotland  (RBS) will not agree to reduce his pension (of over £650,000 per annum), he firmly believes the government were aware of this arrangement on his leaving RBS. It appears someone in government knew of this arrangement. This is not good enough, government has messed up.

I would suggest further money to RBS be stopped, why should the taxpayer be giving money to bankers who made this financial mess and continue to profit from it, let it go bust.

Money destined for the RBS should be directed to the Post Office instead, plans to “part-privatize” the Post Office must be stopped.  The Post Office is far more deserving of the taxpayers’ help.

Frankly, Gordon Brown’s government is proving to be very, very disappointing.
