Toxic, Toxic, Toxic.

The one word overused of late is toxic. Media and political hacks love using the phrase toxic debt, toxic mortgages etc Surely there was nothing wrong with bad debts why suddenly call them toxic debts.

Viewing Andrew Marr’s interview of Gordon Brown on the BBC yesterday morning, it occurred to us that Andrew Marr’s constant pressure on pressing Gordon Brown to respond on the demands by a minority of Labour MPs  by resigning fell short of acceptable standards. The interview itself was dominated by constant references to this issue, as tv  license payers should we really be paying for such a biased interview should such toxic interviews be accepted as biased and partial.  We are all in favour of the freedom of the press, we are all in favour of putting politicians on the spot but when a toxic interview becomes a mere personalized attack can it be acceptable?  We say no.
