Opportunism knocks.

The opposition parties in the Greater London Assembly were, yesterday, disgracefully, in making the most of political opportunism to launch an unfair criticism of Sir Ian Blair the Metropolitan Police chief.  The Lib Dems and Tories found common ground in calling for Sir Ian’s resignation. Sir Ian Blair has been a good police chief for London and he should not be punished for the tragic events of 22 July 2005. Those who join this unholy alliance, the campaign against Sir Ian Blair, have short memories, the events of that July created a scenario of cells of islamo-fascist terrorists determined to commit mass homicidal murder. We need cool heads not ones ruled by a false emotion and short term political gains.  The enemy is not our own police chiefs but terrorists and we need to be alert to the threat they pose and remain united in our resolve to crush the threat islamo-fascists pose to our society.

Hear Hear! Enough of people joining the Tories and the Lib Dems to bring down a good progressive police chief for London. Sir Ian should hold his nerve. London’s behind him.
