So some of the gurus at the BBC want to be nice and liberal and allow nazi thugs access to air their views on BBC Question Time! This will be a disgraceful decision. Giving the BNP the oxygen of publicity is no way to defeat their views. The BBC is playing with fire. How come a party which campaigns on race hate and has exclusive membership to one section of the population is to be given free aair time to publicize its poison. The BBC officials who are promoting this idea are misguided.

THE BBC has provoked controversy by giving the British National party a platform for the first time on Question Time, its top current affairs programme.
Nick Griffin, the BNP leader who was elected to the European parliament in June, is expected to be on the show in October. The corporation has decided that the far-right party deserves more airtime because it has demonstrated “electoral support at a national level”.
The move has caused consternation among politicians, with some Labour MPs and at least one cabinet minister pledging to boycott Question Time. They fear the BNP will use the publicity to promote a racist agenda.
The change in policy has also triggered dissent within the BBC. One senior correspondent, who did not want to be named, said: “It’s barmy … Public servants can be sacked for membership of the BNP and yet the BBC wants to give them airtime with the main political parties.”
The BBC changed its position after the party won two seats at the European elections. Its share of the national vote at that poll was 6.2%. “They got across a threshold that has given them national representation and that fact will be reflected in the level of coverage they will be given,” said Ric Bailey, the BBC’s chief adviser on politics. “This is not a policy about the BNP. It’s a policy about impartiality.”
The decision was approved by Mark Byford, the deputy director-general. David Dimbleby, the show’s host, backed the change.
This weekend the mainstream political parties were divided in their reaction. The Tories and the Liberal Democrats have told the BBC they are prepared to share a platform with the BNP, arguing that its policies must be confronted.
Labour is considering its position. “The custom is that Labour does not share a platform with the BNP, but given the impact of the BBC’s guidelines on our and other mainstream political parties’ position, we are reviewing this,” it said.
One cabinet minister said he would refuse to sit alongside Griffin or other BNP representatives on any BBC panel show: “Nobody’s happy about this. I don’t imagine anyone would be content to go on with them.”
John Mann, Labour chairman of the all-party group on anti-Semitism, said: “It’s absurd to give the BNP any space. This is how Hitler came to power and these people have got the same objectives. It’s typical BBC intellectualism giving them airtime.”
Now that the BNP scumbag Nick Griffin has become an MEP why is it that our media particularly BBC TV News find it necessary to respond to speech farts made by Nick Griffin. Griffin made a preposterous outburst yesterday suggesting that the EU should bomb boats carrying immigrants - what appears to be mass murder on African immigrants attempting to cross the mediterranean in flimsy boats.
BBC NEWS: Griffin: ” Frankly, they need to sink several of those boats.
“Anyone coming up with measures like that we’ll support but anything which is there as a ‘oh, we need to do something about it’ but in the end doing something about it means bringing them into Europe’ we will oppose.”
The interviewer, BBC Correspondent Shirin Wheeler, said: “I don’t think the EU is in the business of murdering people at sea.”
Mr Griffin replied: “I didn’t say anyone should be murdered at sea – I say boats should be sunk, they can throw them a life raft and they can go back to Libya…”
This has to be a really racist, callous, sickening comment by Griffin: a complete moron. It would be far better if our media just totally ignore the miserable fascist wretch.
So now we have the evidence that exposes BNP lies in regard to the allocation of social housing. Racist bigots however are difficult to challenge even with evidence like this. The fact is that “there is no evidence that new arrivals in the UK are able to jump council housing queues.” The shame is that only recently once again Gordon Brown sought to utilize a BNP slogan to qualify his social housing policy – if only our prime minister had consulted the Equality and Human Rights Commission first. The fact is there is an insufficient supply of social housing and it is time that the Labour government promoted a building programme instead of spinning the issue – do something!
Once they settle and are entitled to help, it adds, the same proportion live in social housing as UK-born residents.
The prime minister has said the law will change so that local people get priority for social housing in England.
Vigilance is needed with regard to the threat posed by the lunatic fringe of extreme right terror groups.
Vikram Dodd in the THE GUARDIAN: “Scotland Yard's counter-terrorism command fears the extreme right will stage a deadly terrorist attack in Britain to try to stoke racial tensions, the Guardian has learned.
Senior officers fear the attack will be a “spectacular” that is designed to kill people. The counter-terrorism unit has moved officers to beef up its monitoring of the extreme right's potential to stage attacks…”more
At long last the penny has dropped, why on earth is the BNP‘s existence tolerated when it practices discriminating policies let alone exist in violation of laws relating to race relations. all European Union funding should be halted and the party’s two MEPs should be stripped of their membership of the European Parliament.
THE GUARDIAN: “The BNP is facing the threat of an injunction on the grounds of acting unlawfully over its membership policies, the Guardian can reveal.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission, the independent watchdog on discrimination, has written to the far-right political party stating that it believes the BNP is in breach of the Race Relations Act on three counts.
The letter, which gives the BNP until 20 July to respond to the allegations, reserves the right to take further legal action, including an injunction against the party…”more
