Glasgow East byelection - a bad day.

July 25, 2008

It is unbelievable that a rock solid Labour  held safe seat has fallen to the SNP. Something is seriously wrong in the Labour Party, this should not have happened. It is no good for Labour leaders to react in the old way, we are “listening” is not the response we should give, nobody believes Labour politicians listen, we engage in the same old, same old. Our economic policy is crazy, our incomes policy is nonsense, allowing the Bank of England to raise the basic interest rate or keep rates high is foolish. We are following an economic policy that is out of step with reality. Unless, the Labour leadership learns and changes course we will not be looking at a fourth term of government but disaster in the coming general election.

The Ego of David Davis

July 11, 2008

The man, David Davis, is a complete nutter, having put his constituents of Haltemprice and Howden through a phoney by-election for the sake of his own super ego. The man who thought 42 days to question terrorist suspects was too much and violated the principles of Magna Carta was nevetheless happy to support 28 days. This nutter wasted money on a phoney election merely to satisfy his personal ego. This by-election proved nothing except confirm its status as a safe Tory seat.

Zuma: Zimbabwe is out of control.

June 24, 2008

Good news from South Africa: as the ANC President has now made his strongest attack on Mugabe’ fascist regime so far. Mugabe is not going to like this, he will be fuming. One by one African leaders are waking up to the mass abuse of human rights by Mugabe’s terror regime.

At last the UN Security Council Condemns Mugabe.

June 24, 2008

The UN Security Council for once took a decision to condemn the violence, the terror and the stage managed elections conducted by the Mugabe fascist regime. All 15 members agreed on a statement. It’s a step forward but not enough we need to see urgent action to assist the suffering people of Zimabwe, there is no law & order, civilian lives are at risk daily from Mugabe’s fascist militias, police and army.

Mugabe will not like this decision, it will hurt him, the UN should now ban him from all future UN engagements, non recognition of his UN ambassador, these would help to isolate him, we would rather see UN peacekeeping troops on the ground.

Zimbabwe: MDC Decision to Withdraw from the Presidential Election.

June 23, 2008

We are sure this was a difficult decision, it has given Mugabe a boost, he will believe the MDC is once again cornered largely due to his campaign of terror. We fear the decision by the MDC will not stop the violence, we believe this violence may get even worse. We would have preferred the election campaign continued.

We salute the courage that Zimbabweans have shown in opposing  Mugabe’s terror regime, many are suffering, we know that sooner or later the fascist zanu regime will collapse it’s a matter of time election or no election.

It is also time that the crisis in Zimbabwe was treated as a WORLD problem and NOT solely an African problem, we need UN armed intervention, a peacekeeping force now.

Fascist dictator Mugabe can be beaten.

June 21, 2008

Mugabe now feels only God can remove him from power, maybe he will soon, but it shows the contempt which this small minded fascist dictator and his zanupf thugs view democracy. Having embarked on the electoral path we hope the MDC will continue to fight this election and strive to win. There is no doubt now that Muagbe’s fascists thugs, the green bombers, the militia, the Zimbabwe Republic “police” and the Zimbabwe “National” Army are involved in terrorizing the nation. 16 main terror camps have been set up around the country to beat, torture and kill opposition supporters. We have seen Mugabe’s teror gangs operating in rural areas, now they are terrorizing townships such as Chitungwiza. People are having their homes petrol bombed, mothers forced to kill their children this Mugabe regime is fascism writ large.

We are pleased to hear condemnation of Mugabe’s terror regime from Kenya’s Prime Minister, Raila Odinga and recently from President Dos Santos of Angola, surely now this is the time African presidents should now intervene with Mugabe and let it be known that his behaviour is totally unacceptable and he and his thuggish regime should stop his fascist terror and step down now.

The world must act to isolate Mugabe and his regime, what we really need to see is UN intervention now to restore law and order, but as Mbeki has his Chairmanship of the UN Security Council he won’t want to upset his buddy. Mbeki is silent as usual during this period of Mugabe’s terror. Mbeki is a total disgrace to Africa his father, Gavin, must be turning in his grave.

Comments on the Week’s News.

MUGABE, THE THUG, ATTENDS UN CONFERENCE ON FOOD IN ROME.

Why on earth, after the miserable record of bad governance in Zimbabwe does the UN invite Robert Mugabe ex-President of Zimbabwe to a talking shop. One can guarantee he and his arrogant wife, Grace will indulge in their much needed shopping in Rome. He will no doubt seek yet again an opportunity for propaganda boosting his regime’s image. Has the UN decided that the 1948 Charter of Human Rights no linger matter? When is the UN going to wake up to the fact that Mugabe and his repressive, miserable, crumbling regime is out of fashion as far as Zimbabweans are concerned. Zimbabwean is being torn apart by Mugabe’s Zanu PF and militia gangs, many people are starving, this UN food conference is a complete waste of time.

BRITISH GOVERNMENT POLICIES ON YOUTH.

Once again we feel the need to return to this topic due to a hotch potch collection of proposed legislation in regard to youth.  Dealing with drunken youths or even adults come to that, on the streets is not going to be easy. The obvious target should be the availability of alcohol and energy drinks, it would be far more sensible to ban supermarkets and off licenses from selling these products and indeed easier. We should go for the source of supply.

We really need urgently a coherent policy in regard to youths in which their needs to overcome “boredom” need to be addressed. More funds for youth activities should be provided, more can be done to boost youth employment opportunities. For goodness sake, let’s remember there are many youths engaged in positive activities, not all youths are engaged in anti-social behaviour. Let’s concentrate on the positive not the negative.

PRIME MINISTER GORDON BROWN.

It might have been wiser if Mr. Brown had gone to the electorate soon after his transfer of power, we agree that there is no constitutional requirement to do so, but we do wonder had he done so he could have won a fresh mandate. Recent proposals for legislation are beyond the original Labour Party Manifesto of the last general election. One feels uncomfortable as a Labour supporter that proposed, radical new and controversial legislation is beyond the original mandate.

Gordon appears to have made a mess of things since taking office: the Northern Rock fiasco, the tax fiasco, the European Treaty all of which amongst others has led to genuine concern in regard to his leadership.

When the “listen” word becomes abuse.

May 2, 2008

Senior Labour Party & Government bosses commenting on yesterday’s electoral disaster are beginning to become total idiots. How many times have we heard the phrase in response to yesterday’s electoral catastrophe:” we will listen”, or “we are listening”. In reality this verb is close to becoming a word of abuse. Of course, what it really means is - we will continue as before, you can say what you like, you can complain but we will continue squeezing the poor and flattering the wealthy! Tax benefits for the rich - tax increases for the poor! This Labour government has become lifeless and rotten.

Zimbabwe & the Mugabe terror regime.

April 11, 2008

We had hoped that our first post on returning from the USA would be concerned with our impressions of the presidential candidates but due to recent events in Zimbabwe we feel we need to comment on the dreadful situation now facing democrats in Zimbabwe.

Mugabe and his Zanu PF regime clearly faced defeat in the presidential vote hence the reluctance of the regime to publish the voting figures. We believe that the regime has to be removed by force. We believe that constant expectation that some fairy (the southern African leaders) with a magic wand will descend and put things right is a forlorn hope: a complete waste of time. What is needed is a third chimurenga a war to liberate the country from Zanu PF fascist rule. Elections in Zimbabwe are a complete farce, the regime uses terror and repression against any opposition;  the judiciary is likewise an arm of the state; the police by and large are Zanu PF thugs; Mugabe’s secret police the CIO constantly harass the opposition; the sate media is a tool of Zanu PF. Zimbabweans instead of seeking escape to safer waters need to rise up and end this regime no one else will do this.

Comment on the Week’s News.

March 2, 2008

Last week’s earthquake, 5.3 on the Richter scale in Lincolnshire, was the source of humour for some media outlets; whilst it’s true the scale of damage was slight in comparison to earthquakes overseas; nevertheless, it could have been a different story had it occurred during the morning rush hour.

The media seems to be in a frenzy of excitement as Prince Harry returns from Afghanistan having done his service. It’s not a bad idea to have princes serving in active duty and doing their share.

Russia decides today on its new president and it seems likely that Dmitri Medvedev may be the successful candidate, can we hope that there will be a thaw in relations and that the nasty rhetoric of the Putin era will pass, seems unlikely but we can only hope.

The Democratic presidential race continues as especially Texas and Ohio are seen as crucial in Mrs Clinton’s failing campaign. If she fails to score the majority of delegates on offer then she will only have herself to blame for making the campaign nasty and bitter.

This is the last entry for the next 5 weeks as we are preparing for our journey to the USA during which we hope to research more on political developments and the presidential race.
