Huff and Puff Politics Revisited.

Just when we thought our main concerns were settling, well except for the Northern Rock fiasco, we are launched into yet another matter for Tory politicos and media hacks ever watchful for the slightest excuse to engage in huff and puff politics. What the current crisis is about is the loss of two password protected CDs containing sensitive information in regard to child benefit claimants. The HM Revenue & Customs web site states there is a possibility the disks are still on government property. It is believed the disks were sent by TNT courier services: was it necessary to privatize internal government mail services, government material should be transported by civil servants and not by cheapskate privatized couriers.

Anyway, is it a fuss, the usual mole out of a molehill? Of course the issue is serious; it is quite wrong for the Chairman of HMR&C, Paul Gray, to resign it is not his fault neither is it the fault of Mr. Darling, the Chancellor of the Exchequer. What matters is recovery of the missing disks; a speedy investigation to resolve the mystery and measures to ensure that never again should such an incident occur.

Those calling for resignations are merely engaged in huff and puff politicking and should be ashamed of themselves and the media hacks should stop scaring the general public into a panic.

The Heights of Paranoia.

The Zimbabwe government has placed its armed forces on alert in expectation of a British invasion of its territory! The fascist Mugabe/Zanu PF government in Harare lives in a permanent state of paranoia, this panic started when a newspaper in London published a report of a conversation between former general, Lord Guthrie and Tony Blair on the possibility of military action to force regime change in Zimbabwe. We are pleased that this was not developed and that whilst the destruction of the fascist regime in Zimbabwe would be welcome it might not be the best way to deal with the oppressive Zimbabwe government. Nevertheless, a few well placed bombs dropped on Mugabe’s multiple residences might send a wave of cheer across Zimbabwe and of course this is why the Zimbabwe government is gripped by paranoia, as it is scared public support might very likely be favourable to military action against Mugabe’s regime.
