England Rugby Team defeats Les Bleus.

October 14, 2007

Last night’s semi-final match for the Rugby World Cup was magnificent. The England team put on a great performance winning 14 - 9. It was a very enjoyable game and we look forward to the final with the winners from tonight’s semi final.

On a another note we were quite disturbed by Andrew Marr’s suggestion on his TV programme this morning in which he implied rugby (union) was a Tory sport - no way Marr -never in your dreams it just shows you know less than you think. We also wonder why, Mr. Marr, do you always make seating space available on your programme for Carol Thatcher and her silly ideas?

Comment on last week’s news.

First, the good news. The return of PMQs saw a more confident ad cool Gordon Brown in the face of a poor performance by Cameron who failed to use the occasion for constructive and positive debate and attempted to to simply grab media headlines based on nothing. Media hacks as usual had rather different interpretations and felt Cameron was the hero of the day. Secondly, the bad news, the NHS Maidstone Hospital management had managed to ensure failure in their duty of care towards patients and ignored the filth and poor conditions in the hospital responsible for harmful bacteria to grow which led to a number of deaths. The Royal Mail strikes led to disruption but at least by Saturday it appeared possible to resolve.
